Loving Hut is a vegan vegetarian restaurant located off Atlantic and 6th street. It’s fairly small restaurant with happy signs and pro-vegetarian mantras plastered all over. It is worth mentioning it is part of an international chain with locations all over the U.S..

They have an assortment of Asian and fusion dishes such as bun hue and pho. Each dish is about $6-9. I ordered the lemon grass chicken and stir-fried eggplant.

Unfortunately, nothing stood out for me. The San Gabriel Valley has an array of authentic vegetarian restaurants and Loving Hut just didn’t measure up.

The service was extremely slow and inefficient. The restaurant was practically empty and we had to wait a long time for anything. I think I’ll pass on Loving Hut. I do recognize that they have a buffet on Saturdays for about $11 a person, but I’m not curious enough to go back and find out.

Hope you guys have a better experience.

i used to eat here when I was going to school since it’s not too far from campus.  It’s been 2 years though, and yeah even then, this review pretty much sums it up.   Too bad they haven’t made many improvements since I’ve last been.   Even though I didn’t think it was top notch, it was great for what it was, which was cheap vegan food not too far from CSULA.   I know there are other asian places in the area that have some veggie items on the menu nearby, but really, it’s just good to have a 100% vegan restaurant to go to sometimes, that way you don’t have to worry about asking questions about what you order.  The service was slow, and it’s pretty quiet in there, so I would go to eat and work on homework assignments/sketch during long class breaks… it really is a good place for vegan students, I can’t stress that enough.

I’ve had food from the Loving Hut in Tustin and it was far better than I remember Alhambra’s branch tasting, though it was take-out my cousin brought, so I can’t say anything about the service.   I guess it’s up to the individual branches (the menus are different too).
