Disney’s First Latina Princess of the Day: Auburn hair and blue eyes? Seems legit.
[mashable]

people seem to forget that Latina/Latino doesn’t mean dark skin, hair and eyes.  We’re a mixed bunch of physical traits.  For instance, I have the typical dark hair, eyes, and short stature most people associate with being latina/ hispanic…. etc, but my skin is so pale, it throws a lot of people off.   Also, my niece who’s got the mexican influence from our family but also Argentina nfluence from her mom, looks just like this princess:  auburn hair and blue eyes.
I can see why people would get upset though because there aren’t many princesses out there with darker features.   Growing up, even though I’m not french, I always identified with Belle because she had the most physical features I saw in myself… so yeah, even though Sofia does have features that CAN actually be Latina, it doesn’t seem right considering there’s already a bunch of princesses out there with similar features.
just my two cents folks.
